GREAT READING PROGRAMS


The Oregon Reading Association will again choose one school to represent Oregon for the
International Reading Association's Exemplary Reading Program Award

The Winning School will receive:
• $500 to use for a literacy project
• Lots of favorable publicity, both locally and statewide.
• Three paid registrations for the ORA Winter Institute to be held February 10-11, 2012
• Free one-year ORA memberships or renewals for the ENTIRE certified staff.
• An invitation to present at the 57th IRA Annual Convention in Chicago, IL
April 29-May 2, 2012 (not required).

Criteria:
• All public and private elementary and secondary schools are eligible if the school has at least one IRA member.
• The school must apply with its entire reading program, not just one segment, such as Title I, library/media.
• The application form must be signed by the chief school officer; e.g., the superintendent.

• The winning program should serve as a model for other schools and teachers.
